TRAIN RIDE

We decided to take the boys on a train ride today. Actually, it's the commuter train from Subang Jaya to Klang. The interior is very much like the LRT so the older boys and I were kinda disappointed as we were anticipating a more 'train-like' interior. Ethan, however, was totally thrilled!

The trip takes about 25 mins if I'm not mistaken. We alighted in Klang and headed straight for a Bak Kut Teh shop for an early dinner.

After dinner, we took a leisurely stroll up and down Klang's Little India to show the boys the sights & sounds of one of the 3 major communities that make up 1Malaysia. It was very colourful and I was totally spellbound by the lovely decorated saree materials on display.

Night was falling and it was time to head back to the station for the ride home.

'Ladies Only Coach' stickers

In our haste, we didn't realise that we had entered a 'ladies only' coach. But we noticed that we weren't the only ones who had made the mistake because there were other men in the coach as well.

The boarding time is quite short and in the rush to enter a coach before the doors close, one can't really see the above stickers placed on the outside of the coach. Perhaps the KTM authorities should spray paint the coach a different colour (pink perhaps?....just a thought) to make it more conspicuous.

It was a nice little 'excursion' for the family. I'm thinking we should try a real train next time. Perhaps the overnight sleeper train to Singapore or some nearer town just to experience the bunk beds. I believe the boys will find that an adventure too!

Chocolate Treat!

Today is the last day of the school year for most children, but for some luckier few (like my eldest son Brandon), the holidays started a week earlier.

I wanted to treat Ethan's classmates & schoolmates to something special to celebrate the end of a great school year, and I settled on giving them a chocolate fountain surprise! So on Thursday morning, we (my husband, 2nd son Justin, maid & myself) prepared all the items and brought them over to the kindergarten.

The older kids were totally thrilled and kept saying "We've got chocolate! We've got chocolate!" The younger ones were just totally dazed by the fountain spouting liquid chocolate instead of water. lol!

The classes, led by their teachers, came out in turn and the kids queued up for their portion of 2 sticks of marshmallows & 3 sticks of finger biscuits. We helped the younger kids coat the dips with chocolate but allowed the older ones to try their hand at dipping the marshmallows themselves.

Look at the kids trying to get a peek of the chocolate fountain
from where they're standing.

The teachers themselves were excited too. After all the children had had their share & gone back to the classes, it was their turn to savour the chocolate dipped treats.

When it comes to delicious chocolate, there is no age divide. :D

Yum! Yum!
